| Ken Walther Biography |
Born in the Bad Lands of New Mexico, in the small village of Carrizozo, Ken grew up in the west Texas town of El Paso.
Call of Duty
Hearing the Call of Duty he enlisted in the Army in 1964 at the height of the Vietnam build-up. Qualifying for a the special U.S Army Security Agency, Ken opted for a four year enlistment - nearly one year of Basic and Special Training in Ft. Ord and Ft. Devens, MA.
He held Top Secret/Crypto Clearances before his 21st birthday and the next three years were spent in South East Asia where he learned and applied SIGINT operations in tactical situations.
Central Intelligence Agency Career
Upon being honorably discharged in 1968, he applied for employment in the Central Intelligence Agency. Having acquired specialty skills in the ASA, he was hired and began a new career in 1969. He chose to work in a Technical Operations Field and went through further classified training and held Top Secret/Crypto and Special Codeword Clearances.
Although his work was considered to be in an Undercover capacity, he held positions at Overseas Installations for the next 17 years, culminating in 20 years of Overseas Operational work.
When not on actual assignment, Ken worked in the Washington, DC area at a number of "undisclosed" areas waiting for the next assignment. During that time considerable training and research was encountered.
The Agency, under President Clinton, changed its policy on "Under Cover" status for Retirees and Ken was allowed to retire "Open" and his cover was rolled back to day one. That is the only reason that he can reveal his Agency affiliation today.
In fact, if one is so inclined, please read "Spycraft", by Robert Wallace, as this is the only book authorized to be written about the special Organization within the CIA called the Office of Technical Service. This book offers unparalleled insight to the world of Clandestine Operations from a technical perspective.
Back to Southwest Roots and an Entrepreneurial Adventure
Upon retirement, Ken decided to return to his Southwest roots and moved to Las Vegas in 1996. His first entrepreneurial adventure was to start a highly complex manufacturing company (Lazer-Tek Designs) in Henderson.
The commercialization of a technology called "Sub-Surface Engraving" was then born. What that means is the company was able to bring a beautiful product to the market in which 3-D images were engraved inside solid blocks of Crystal without any surface disturbance.
Using the talent of a handful of Russian PhDs, Lazer-Tek built a company from a laser phenomenon to become the biggest commercial operation of crystal products containing custom imagery for large corporate clients as well as the general public.

Letter from Ken Walther
Greetings Fellow Citizens,
My name is Ken Walther, and I am running for the position of Nevada State Assembly, District 18 in Las Vegas. Introducing myself is a way to start my campaign to ask for your vite in the Primaries this June, then onward to the Election in November, 2010.
My goals are to represent you in the best way possible by keeping our taxes low, keeping our Government at a small, efficient size, and cut the huge wastes that exist. You can rely on me to represent the small business owner, as small business is the backbone of this Nation and the State of Nevada. What qualifies me, a Republican, to represent you?
I am a Vietnam Era Veteran, a 27 year Veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency, and a small business owner. I am also one of the founding members of what has grown into the Tea Party Movement, dedicated to abiding by our Constitution and giving power to the people, not power to politicians. I have never been a politician before, but I want to use my years of experience in life to help unwind the turmoil of waste and corruption at all levels of Government. Remember that elected Officials work for you, the citizens! We need to elect Representatives who will listen & fight for your basis rights and freedoms.
If you would like to help in my campaign you can contact me through my Web Site or mail me at the address below. Please let me know if you have places for signs, places for brochures inside your businesses, or would join me in “walking” in precincts in your neighborhood.
You can also support my campaign financially by visiting the donations page and contributing through PayPal. I look forward to meeting with many of you in the weeks to come and listening to your ideas of making our community and State a better place.
Regards,
Ken Walther
